Workaround: Installing ColdFusion 7 on Linux

Problem
InstallAnywhere installer scripts for several products including ColdFusion fail on some Fedora based Linuxes (in my case OpenSUSE 10.1*) with messages like this:

awk: error while loading shared libraries: libdl.so....more

There are lots of ways to trace the execution of a ColdFusion request. Originally you could just cfoutput variables and "starting/finishing x" messages to the page....more

getMetaData works on functions

I just noticed something interesting about getMetaData() that might come in handy - if you pass it a function reference (instead of the usual cfc instance) it gives you the metadata of the function - access, name and a parameter array....more
